San Francisco, CA
CUE Rock Star TOSA Edition

Check out TOSA-specific workshops from professionals around the area. Some topics include:

Comfort in the Chaos "Have you lost count of all of the "to do" lists that build from the many hats you wear as a TOSA? Ready to harness the chaos to create opportunity? Come explore how Chrome extensions, Google Keep, and other tools allow us to supercharge our TOSA powers by boosting productivity and streamlining our workflow. Share these tools with your teachers to create a culture of productivity where our focus can remain where it really matters: creating high quality learning experiences for students!"

Professional Development: Diamond Time or Just Passing Time...? "Let's transform Professional Development so that it isn't a "Bueller...? Bueller...? Bueller...?" experience! TOSAs and coaches need to know how to "ruin PD" for everyone! Let's figure out how to transform our Professional Development so that trainings, workshops and school are not just ways to pass the time. We will experience playground-style PD and go hands-on with green screens, sketchnotes and explore how to add a gamification layer to our PD too. We will be the coaches and TOSAs who help teachers (and students!) start thinking of school as Diamond Time rather than passing time."

Building Capacity with Innovation "PD sessions come and go but how can you help change the CULTURE of a school or a district to develop teacher leaders? Inspired by the Google for Education Certified Innovator Program, you will see how to build capacity in your teacher leaders by helping them 1) become connected with a cohort support system 2) focus on their own learning journey by developing their own Innovation Project and 3) return to their sites to become instructional leaders. Through utilizing a positive growth mindset, districts can create their own successful professional development system."

February 8 - 10, 2017
Indian Wells, CA
ACSA Superintendent's Symposium

"The goal of ACSA’s Superintendents’ Symposium is to bring school leaders from around the state together for an invaluable two and a half days of professional learning, networking and advocacy. This is the best time to look at the Governor’s Budget and for superintendents to get together to review the state-of-the-state and the state-of-the-district. That's essential, but more than ever before it is time for Superintendents to lead a movement to restore California schools to their once held rank of the best in the nation. As part of this Symposium's networking and professional learning we will focus on integrating technology into curriculum and professional development in a digital world."
