EdSurge Panel: The Role of Accelerators in 2017

"In recent years the education sector has attracted a wide variety of talent—from young, starry-eyed entrepreneurs to blue-chip giants—all making aggressive forays into the market. Also onboard are foundations, investors and accelerators that aim to provide the capital and other resources to support sustainable businesses.

What is so attractive about this opportunity for early-stage edtech startups—and what can we learn from the successes and struggles of educators and entrepreneurs? Even more important: How will we know if their tools actually impact teaching and learning?

This event, sponsored by Intel Education Accelerator, will explore the forces at work that connect the builders, buyers and users of education technology. Panelists will offer different perspectives—from the boardroom to the classroom—into the good, bad and sometimes befuddling side of what works in this complex ecosystem.

Drinks and light snacks will be provided. EdSurge’s Sydney Johnson will moderate the panel. Stay tuned for speakers!"

ISTE: Cultivating a #DigCit State of Mind

"Teachers want a simple way to teach digital citizenship and often rely on packaged curricula that allow them to feel they can “check digital citizenship off the list.” This session will show you how to infuse digital citizenship naturally in everything you do without making it an extra or add-on. #DigCit is a mindset, not a curriculum unto itself."
