Alludo teachers are bringing computer science into their classrooms! Here's a glimpse at the CS activities they've been completing in their districts' professional development games.
Have students create with code
Have your students go one step further with coding and have them create something using a coding program like Scratch.
Get to know the CSTA Computer Science standards
The Computer Science Teachers Association has written computer science standards to help guide CS instruction in grades K-12. [...] Explore the K-8 standards and progression chart for an idea of what students should know at each grade level.
Spend a week with the STEAMpunk Mobile Lab
This activity encourages educators to sign up for CUE's STEAMpunk Mobile Lab, which "consists of a set of classroom-ready robot drones or STEAM materials that will be delivered to their school to help jump start STEAM activities in the classroom."
Complete the "Teaching Computer Science Fundamentals" online course
Learn basic computer science and coding concepts, and ideas for teaching those concepts to K-5 students by completing this interactive, self-paced, online course (available at Code.org).
3-D design tools
This activity encourages educators to explore 3D design tools like TinkerCAD, Minecraft and SketchUp, then describe ways they could incorporate one of these tools in a lesson.
Have students create an animation using code
Have your students go one step further with coding and have them create something using a coding program.
